Correcting a misread value

Correcting a value takes five seconds and does two things: it makes the value right now, and it may make the next similar document read better.

Keeping the old value is not bureaucracy: if anyone asks why the system said something different in March, the answer is right there.
Watch out
Correcting a value does not correct the document. If the paper itself is wrong — a certificate with the wrong tax ID — you need a new one, not a tidied-up field.
